Factory Gyms is a performance orientated fitness facility. Whatever your fitness goals, we hope you will adopt our results focused attitude and strive for success. The gym is designed to help you build strength, stamina, confidence and general fitness, so you can live a full and energetic life outside the gym. Factory Gyms too has a life beyond the gym, we are working hard to be an important contributor to our Edinburgh community. We are currently working with local sports teams, charities and businesses to build a stronger community for our members.

Community Sport

Factory Gyms are proud sponsors of Spartans FC and Forrester RFC teams. Spartans FC is one of Edinburgh biggest football clubs. Factory Gyms is sponsoring the Spartans Senior Team, which is hoping move into the professional Third Division of the Scottish Football League. In addition to their football success, the Spartans run a Community Football Academy to help develop the sporting, social and life skills of persons of all ages. Factory Gyms is also proud to support and train the Forrester RFC 2nd XV team. Forrester RFC is a substantial rugby club based in Gyle that prides itself on success and hard work. The Club’s React-to-Rugby plan works closely with schools and PE departments to reintroduce and develop rugby programs within local schools.

In addition to sponsorship, Factory Gyms provides coaching to many local sports teams. Tom is a field sport nut, and his background in strength and conditioning coaching makes him ideally suited to the task. Tom provides his expertise and time for free to train many local sports teams, including Lismore RFC, Broughton WFC, Forrester RFC, and the Gyle Strollers FC. If your team is local to Edinburgh and might be interested in our community-based strength & conditioning coaching program, please contact Tom at Tom@factorygyms.co.uk.

Teenage Cancer Trust

Factory Gyms has chosen the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) as its nominated charity. The TCT is devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer. The charity recognises and addresses the impact on teenagers of being removed from normal life (i.e. their fiends, school and environment) and placed in a cancer ward with very small or older people. The TCT works to ensure that more and more teenagers have access to appropriate treatment from teenage cancer specialists in an environment tailored to meet their unique needs. Across the UK the TCT has successfully built and funded teenage treatment facilities within hospital oncology departments. At present, the TCT is fundraising to build a cancer facility to treat teenagers in Edinburgh’s Western General Hospital. This unit will cater for teenagers throughout the East of Scotland. For more information on the TCT and Factory Gyms’ work to promote this important cause, please see TCT.
