Background: Jamie has an impressive personal fitness background, having played football for Hibs Youth Club and competed for many years as an amateur boxer. Despite his passion for sport, Jamie had a successful career in banking for many years. However, in 2008 he decided to turn his passion into a career and returned to the fitness industry. Combining his business savvy with his love of fitness, Jamie has built a successful personal training business, catering to clients across Edinburgh, the Lothian and Central Scotland. “My aim is to help my clients sustain and enjoy a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I take a holistic approach – looking a diet, activity levels, work constraints and personal lifestyle. The goal is to improve health and fitness, so my clients can pack more into their lives!” Jamie has a dynamic, intelligent and energetic approach to fitness, making his training sessions fun and effective. He uses cutting edge principles and techniques throughout his training. “I like to keep my sessions new and interesting, so I always have one eye on new developments in the fitness industry. Training should be fun and varied – I like to keep my clients guessing!”
Specialities: Jamie can help you to lose weight, sculpt & shape your body, improve your sports performance and/or generally improve your health and wellbeing. “I combine postural assessments, flexibility training, deep core activation, high intensity cardiovascular work and strength exercises to burn calories, improve performance and build fitness.” Jamie’s unique approach to his sessions incorporates an array of training techniques, reflecting his personal background in boxing and football. “My clients seem to relish the opportunity to pummel me during our high intensity boxing intervals. To be honest, I quite enjoy it too. Breaking up conventional cardio and weights routines with energetic boxing keeps things fresh, engaging and fun. Boxing intervals also provide a brilliant full-body workout.” Jamie’s innovative approach lends itself well to combined gym-based and outdoor training; adding further diversity to his sessions. “During the summer months I encourage my clients to get outdoors. We’re right on Arthur’s seat, so outdoor bodyweight circuits and/or running is a fun addition to our training routines.”
